All right! Now, without any further delay, let’s learn how to post Reels on Instagram. As you already know, Instagram Reels is the vertical form of video content and in order to post Reels on Instagram, you’ll need to have a vertical video.
If you already have a vertical video in the aspect ratio of 9:16, that’s great! If not, you can turn any video into IG Reels ready vertical video using a free app. A video with step-by-step instructions has been created. Click on the card above to learn that.
If your video meets the Insta Reels video upload eligibility criteria which are a 15 or 30 seconds vertical video with a 9:16 aspect ratio, then you can simply select the video from the gallery and upload it. I’ll show you that in the latter part of this video, but first learn how to create a Reels video for Instagram if you don’t already have a vertical Reels video ready for posting to Instagram.
If you don’t have a vertical video, the good thing is: Instagram provides you an in-built camera within the app which you can use to record vertical video for Instagram Reels and well Instagram Stories. Simply open the Instagram app and slide right to open the camera options. Here, go to the Reels tab and then tap this button to start recording vertical videos for Instagram Reels.
By default, it’s 15 seconds, but if you want to post Reels to Insta (Instagram) for more than 15 seconds, then you may simply tap on the length to change the Reels length to 30 seconds. And then press the record button to start recording video.
For now, I’ll cancel this because I have already got the vertical video ready for posting as Instagram Reels. So let me show you how to post Reels on Insta from your phone gallery. Once you have opened the IG (Instagram) app, slide right to reveal the camera options. Then swipe right to go to the “Scrolls” tab. After entering the “Scrolls” tab, click here to open the gallery. Now, select the Reels video to upload to Instagram.
Then, it will display a preview of the video. Just click Add and then click this forward arrow. Also, if you want to add text, stickers, graffiti or any other form of creativity, you can do it here.
Once you are done with the editing, tap done, and then tap this Share to the button which will take you to the Insta Reels posting interface. Here, you may write the caption for Insta Reels and also add any hashtag if you want. After that, if you tap this Share to Reels button, the Reels will be posted as Reels on Instagram. But let me share a little known secret about posting Reels Video to Instagram that’ll help you get even more views and exposure.
And, that little secret is: when you post Reels videos to Instagram, also share IG Reels to your Instagram feed. You just need to enable this feature, right next to “Also share to feed”, this IG Reels video will also be posted to your Instagram feed.. And by the way, if you want to post Reels to Instagram Stories, you can do that directly from this interface.
Simply tap here to go to the Stories tab, and then select the audience you want to share with. Tap the share button next to your story, and the Reels will be posted to your Insta story. But, I’m not going to do that at the moment, because I’ll do that with another method, and I’ll show you how.
