Notifications for Instagram

There are many perks of social networking accounts. You can keep abreast of everything your friends, relatives, favorite celebrity, and colleagues posts on their account. You might want to read the texts that they write on their account. And you surely don’t want to miss out on any product or game review posted by your favorite celebrity. This is when Instagram notifications and alerts come into play.

Tons of Categories

When we talk about Instagram alerts, messages, and notifications, you need to know that they fall into different categories. For instance, if you are too annoyed by someone who keeps posting videos and images throughout the day, you can turn notifications for their profile off. In doing so, you just need to go to their profile page and tap the notification off there.

Turning Instagram Notification on

If you have used the “pause all” option in your profile setting page in order to keep all the notifications off for a particular period of time, you can turn it back on. As the option allows you to keep the alerts and pop-up notifications off for a maximum of eight hours, you can always change the setting to make it work again. Here is what you need to do to turn on Notifications for Instagram.

  • Go to your profile page.
  • Look for three horizontal lines.
  • Tab Setting there.
  • Click on the notification option.
  • From there, toggle the “Pause all” option.
  • Turn it back on.

Now you will start receiving all the notifications once again. You may get messages from Instagram and updates about the new content, post, comment, story, videos, and media posted by those you are following on your Instagram account.

How to turn on Story Notification on Instagram?

If you have turned the notifications off for all the accounts that you are following, you can turn them on in the following way.

  • Go to your profile page.
  • Tab on the setting on the top part of the profile.
  • Go to the notification.
  • Look for Notifications for Posts and Stories.
  • Turn the option back on.

Now you can receive an update as a pop-up in the form of an alert whenever your favorite celebrity, friends, or colleague posts a new story.

Turn on Notification of a Profile

If you have turned off the alerts on Instagram for a particular profile, not for all the accounts you follow, you need to make just a few changes. You might have done so to stop getting alerts about the content that they post. If they are the kind of influencer who keeps posting content all day long, you might have felt a bit annoyed with non-stop alerts on your screen. Here’s what you need to do to turn the notifications back on Instagram.

  • Go to the profile page.
  • On the top right, check setting
  • Click it, and you will see a notification
  • Now turn the notification on.

From this point on, you are going to get the alert from Instagram for everything that they will post. Whether it be a post of video or image, you would be able to see that. You can even see their story after turning the option on.

Different types of Notifications

As Instagram has made their beta application so comfortable for the users by giving them the control, you can simply do what you want. If you don’t want to update any Instagram followers, you can turn their notifications off from the setting. Here are a few of the options that you may utilize to get alerts in your account.

Push Notifications

Sometimes you don’t have the time to go through different Instagram accounts categories because you are too swamped to do it. You simply toggle the option of the pause notification button on and off. However, when you turn it off, you don’t get any updates for anything happening around. You may miss out on a lot of good content.

Following and followers

In this option, you may turn on or off the notification from the ones you follow and those who follow you.

Direct Messages

Understandably, you don’t love to receive messages on Instagram sometimes because it is overwhelming to have to reply to everyone there. You can turn the option off, but you may want to turn it back on. You would not want your friends to think that you have no time to respond to their texts. Some friends only communicate through these applications, so turning direct messages on would help you stay in touch with them.
