What a customer needs to know about the stages of creating a mobile service in our studio

We usually structure our work like this:

– Analytics;
– technical task;
– engineering and design;
– development;
– testing and stabilization;
– publication in stores;
– support and development.

Each project is special. For one, you can combine several stages into one in order to implement your plan faster and cheaper. For another, it is advisable to go through all the Science. We will help you choose the best path.

We have already talked about analytics and terms of reference, design, design and development, and then – about testing, stabilization and publication in stores. Now you will find out what the final stage is – support and development.

Stage 7. Support and development

The app has appeared in stores, and you’ve already told your customers about it. But that’s not the end – iPhone app development company doesn’t end on launch.

You need to make sure that everything works correctly from the technical side: the servers withstand the load, there was free space on the disk, and bugs were quickly eliminated.

At the same time, one must think about development. As users download and use the new service, you will receive feedback and based on them, refine the application. And after a while, you will probably want to add new functions.

As a result:

– Technical support for the finished application: application improvements based on reviews, administration, filling with content;
– application development, that is, the release of updates.

Support

As part of the support, we ensure the smooth operation of the application, find and fix bugs, release releases, and work with user reviews. In addition, we carry out technical work on monitoring the health of servers, backing up, ensuring free disk space, supporting updates to the iOS and Android operating systems, and so on.

Support ensures the smooth operation of the application, which means that it takes care of employees and customers. We eliminate errors in the application, and you can be sure that all business processes are working as they should.

App support is estimated by the hour. You pay for the time it takes to work.

Development

If you want to meet the growing expectations of users and the ever-changing recommendations of mobile platforms, you need to update the application regularly.

The development plan for the application is called the Road Map. Such a plan is usually drawn up for a year. Ideally, if the customer already has an understanding of how the application will develop. If there is no such understanding, it’s okay, we will help you figure it out.

How to create a roadmap?

The list of tasks that make up the roadmap is called the backlog. The backlog is usually updated based on user feedback and analytics data.

Reviews in stores. It is imperative to work with user reviews in the stores. But before introducing a new feature or fixing an application according to the wishes of customers, you need to calculate how this will affect performance indicators. It is advisable to immediately calculate this in money.

Sometimes (very often!) It is better to ignore user requests in order to keep the interface simple and not bury the main function in tons of questionable options. To understand exactly how to proceed, ask yourself just one question: What percentage of the audience really needs a new feature?

Analytics data. For starters, you can use free analytics systems in applications, for example AppMetrica from Yandex or Firebase Analytics from Google. Put forward hypotheses on how you can improve certain indicators that are important for your business: engagement, the number of active users per day and per month, the cost of installing an application. Implement changes for part of the audience, measure the result, and then scale it or roll back. Then do it again, that is, work within the HADI cycle of continuous improvement.

We study analytics and identify indicators that need to be improved. Then we arrange them in order of importance and begin work. We also constantly monitor competitors and include best practices in the roadmap. Often the customer does not understand how to fill the application development backlog. We will help you do this and substantiate our proposals.

Short

Once you’ve made the app, don’t drop it. Provide support and development.

Manage store reviews, create a backlog based on user feedback, and prioritize goals based on analytics.

Try to calculate the financial impact of the introduction of new features. Add new features and measure the result. Do this work all the time: as this sales channel grows, you will understand how important it is.

To help those who have decided to create their own mobile service, we have written a book “Mobile Application for Business: What a Customer Should Know”. In it, we tried to give answers to the most frequent questions that customers ask us. There are no vague tips from the “How to Make an Application: Three Easy Steps” series in this book. But there is the experience gained by WINFOX for more than five years of work in the mobile development market, examples from practice and a guide to action.
