Bicycle Safty

Each year hundreds of people die due to bicycle accidents. Here I point some impotant safty issue.

Wearing a Perfect Helmet:

Wearing your bike helmet properly is one of the most important things that you can do when riding your bicycle.

If the helmet will not stay level, you can purchase foam helmet pads and stick them inside your helmet to keep it level.

Make sure that your helmet is level. If it’s not level your brain will not be fully protected.

When you’re checking to see if your home it is level, you should always place two fingers on your forehead and two fingers under your chin strip. If they don’t fit or there is a space for more fingers you should loosen or tighten the chin strap until your helmet fits.

Check Your Bike, Before Riding:

A, B and C stand for air break and chain

To check the air you should get on your bicycle and see if the tires look round. If they look

Flat you need to add more air if they do look round your air is good.

To check the brakes you should squeeze the hand brakes and make sure that they touch the tires. If they do touch the tires move the bicycle forward by walking along the side of it, then squeeze the hand brakes if the tire stops moving your brakes are good .

To check the chain you should look to see if the chain is on the chain rings .also if the chain is having trouble moving and it’s on the chain rings you can put some chain grease on it then

Your chain is good. My vice clause gears on it to change how easy or difficult it is to pedal. You should always be moving when you change your gears. You can also see my hand brakes which are connected to my brakes. I also have a speedometer it tells me how fast i’m going.

Use signal, when runing:

There are three bicycle hand signals, stop left and right.

These help you stay safe.

Tire Valves:

There are two different kinds of bicycle tire valves. Their schrader valves and presta valves. I have schrader valves on myself.

First you take off the valve cap. Then you take the tire pressure gage. Make sure that it’s parallel to the ground and quickly push it down. Then the tire pressure gauge will tell you the psi of your tire. Your tire sends what its PSI should be. If the psi is higher than it should be, you should let some of the air out of the tire. If it’s lower than it should be you should add some air .after that put the valve cap back on the tire valve. Squeeze the tire to double-check the air pressure

Others:

It’s also very important to wear safe clothes .you always wants to have tennis shoes or bike shoes. Always keep a first-aid kit with you.

There are many different types of hazards for a bicyclist. Vehicles are one of the most common hazards. You should always make sure that there aren’t any moving vehicles before you cross the

Road. You always want to look left right and left again to check for vehicles before you cross.

Enjoy your bike ride and stay safe
