Beverly Hills luxury real estate includes some of the most coveted and iconic properties in Southern California. Find out what makes this affluent enclave one of the most in-demand luxury real estate markets on the West Coast.

Defining the Charm of Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills is a world-class real estate destination primarily because of its reputation for luxury and exclusivity. With the average home priced at $7 million, the city caters to affluent individuals and high-income earners who are respected names in their fields. It also has a long love affair with Hollywood – the city has been home to some of the biggest stars in film, music, media, and sports since at least 1919. This has made Beverly Hills synonymous with glamor and success.

Highly-coveted Enclaves

The city has prestigious residential areas that are filled with history, character, and stunning architecture:

The Platinum Triangle

The Platinum Triangle refers to an exclusive cluster of residential areas on the Westside of Los Angeles. It is bordered by Wilshire Boulevard to the south, Santa Monica Boulevard to the northeast, and Canon Boulevard to the northwest. It is made up of Beverly Hills, Bel-Air, and Holmby Hills. These areas are known for their large, multi-million-dollar homes with manicured lawns and glistening pools.

In addition to high-value homes, the Platinum Triangle is characterized by its wealthy residents, many of whom are prominent individuals in business and entertainment. Shops and restaurants in the area tend to be upscale. Residents have ready access to luxury retail on Rodeo Drive and trendy bars and nightclubs on the Sunset Strip.

Beverly Hills Flats

The Flats is a neighborhood within Beverly Hills. It is known for lavish homes situated along wide, tree-lined streets. The properties in this neighborhood are among the largest in the city. Prevalent architectural styles include Colonial, Mediterranean, and Mid-Century Modern. Some of the finest homes in the area can easily command tens of millions of dollars.

Trousdale Estates

Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Monica mountains, this neighborhood offers a fine selection of luxury properties with professional-grade kitchens and spa-style bathrooms. Some of the most coveted homes in Trousdale Estate are modern mansions with infinity pools and gorgeous views of the Los Angeles skyline.

The Bird Streets

This neighborhood adjoins Trousdale Estates and similarly offers an exclusive selection of modern mansions. These properties have high ceilings, glass walls, and outdoor pools with LED lighting. The Bird Streets neighborhood is located above the Sunset Strip, which is known for its vibrant nightlife and fantastic restaurants.

The Luxury Real Estate Market of Beverly Hills

As one of the most expensive housing markets in the United States, Beverly Hills is sought for its location, prestige, and privacy. Despite soaring home prices, it continues to attract a stream of buyers:

Newlyweds Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reportedly paid $60.9 million dollars in cash for a Georgian Revival-style estate spanning 38,000 square feet in Beverly Hills. The opulent mansion features sprawling lawns and partially above-ground infinity pool with sweeping mountain views.

Other highlights include an indoor sports complex with a gym, boxing ring, pickleball court, and sports bar as well as a home theater and wine and whiskey rooms. Also on the property is a guest penthouse, guardhouse, and a massive 12-car garage.

  • Actor Timothée Chalamet splashed out $11 million for a New England Coastal-style mansion. The property features four bedrooms and five bathrooms along with a neutral color palette and exposed wooden beams and a grand fireplace in the living area.
  • Grammy winner and musician Lizzo dropped $15 million on a Beverly Hills mansion previously owned by fellow pop star Harry Styles. The property features a modernist treehouse-inspired home with three bedrooms and four bathrooms. It also features spacious terraces, viewing decks, and a 58-foot infinity pool.

Those interested in buying Beverly Hills luxury real estate should keep an eye out for celebrity homes that hit the market:

  • Singer Adele is selling her Hamptons-style home for $12 million. She also owns two other properties in Beverly Hills.
