printer-problem

Your printer is the necessary gadget for your office or even home. From important documents to school projects, you need a good printer for everything. New printers are advanced and very reliable. Now you can use a single device for printing and scanning. Some printers also provide fax services. These devices are robust but you may find some errors while using the printer.

Common errors in printers

  1. Connection error
  2. The printer is not responding to the PC
  3. Faded printouts
  4. Printer showing offline status
  5. The printer is not connecting to Wi-Fi
  6. Poor printing speed

Fixing common printer problems

Try to reconnect the printer

If the printer is showing a connection error then check the cable. In a wired printer connection, you get the error when the cable is faulty. Some printers have similar cables to phones. But you can’t use a phone cable for a connection. Use a good high-speed printer cable for the connection. Check your cable for any damage. If the cable is damaged then get a new cable. Sometimes, printers can show errors when the USB port of the PC is loose.

You should try using another USB port for the connection. After connection, you can easily take your printouts. If the printer is connected wirelessly then restart the Wi-Fi button of your printer. Now go to the PC and open the Devices folder. Click on Printers & Scanners. Now tap on Add a Device option and check the list. Wait until your printer appears on the printer screen. Select the printer and tap on the Connect button. After connecting the printer, take your printouts easily.

Reset the printer

If your printer is not responding to your PC then you should check the settings. The errors mainly appear when the printer settings are invalid. Go to the printer and open settings. If any printer settings are wrong then fix them. But many users don’t know the correct settings of the printer. For this, you should go for the Canon mg3070s reset. Go to the printer settings and search for the Reset option. Now hit Reset All and tap on the Confirm button. The printer will reset to factory settings. Now reconnect the printer to your computer and take the printouts.

Check for the installed cartridges

If your printer is giving you poor-quality printouts then check for cartridges. Quality issues mainly appear when the cartridges are not working correctly. Go to the printer and check the slot status. If any slot status is showing an error then remove all the installed cartridges. Check the cartridges for any damage. If the cartridge pins are bent then fix them carefully. Now check for ink in your cartridge.

If any cartridge is empty; replace it. Sometimes, the user installs third-party cartridges on the printer. Those cartridges are cheap and provide poor-quality printouts. You should use only the original cartridges on the printer. If you can’t afford the original carriages every time then get high-quality ink. Refill the ink into your cartridges and take your printouts.

You should also check the print head for the quality issue. If the print head is clogged, the printer will start giving faded printouts. Use a cleaning utility function 3-4 times. You can also clean the print head manually using a lint-free cloth and cleanser. After cleaning, take a test printout from the printer.

Install the correct driver

Your printer will show the offline status when it can’t find the driver. This error mainly appears when you use another printer. Every printer model has a different driver. If you are using a new printer then you need a new driver. Go to the connected PC and check for the driver. If you don’t have the driver for the printer then install it. Sometimes, the printer shows errors when the driver is outdated. You should update the driver to its latest version. After updating, restart the PC and reconnect the printer. Wait until the printer finds the driver and now you can take the printouts easily.

Check for the connected cable

Printers’ speed reduces with time. If you are using an old printer then getting poor printing speed is very common. But if your new printer is showing speed issues then you should check for the USB cable. The printer will run at a poor speed if you are using a low-speed cable. You should always connect the printer to a high-speed USB cord. For a wireless connection, you should place the printer near the Wi-Fi device. You can also change the printing mode for the speed. Switch to Normal or Low Mode and the printer speed will increase automatically. But you should only use Low mode to take plain black & white printouts. This mode uses less ink and the print quality is not too good. Whenever you need to print in better quality, you can easily switch to the normal or high printing mode.
