Where only heating is fail to remove major contaminants distiliation system can do the same. At first, boil the water to make steam.  Then take the steam and make it cool again and take it back to a separate container. However, some of the contaminants stil remains active even in the steam. That’s why this system is not applausable always. 

Mechanical Filtration System
