youtube monetization

The first and most common way is to join the YouTube Partner Program. You can meet basic criteria like 4,000 public watch hours (or 10 million recent views of Shorts) and 1,000 subscribers. You’ll get a share of YouTube’s ad revenue if you’re a member. This implies it requires more evidence to prove that a video is marketed than just the presence of an advertisement. YouTube likely keeps all the ad income while the producer enjoys spreading their enthusiasm for the product.

However, as affiliate program members, YouTube users receive a share of advertising revenue and access to direct monetization features, such as Big Thanks. The icons of the latter appear directly under the videos or in the comment sections of live broadcasts. Such additional monetization opportunities are one of the reasons why it is so difficult to estimate how much a YouTube user will earn if they have 100,000 subscribers.

Another place where you can check if a channel is monetized is in the video description. Several YouTubers suggest trusted brands through advertising connections. In this case, a disclaimer in the video description usually tells viewers they deserve a reward. Video descriptions on business channels also often include links to drinking and subscription. Here, viewers can leave tips for content creators or get a monthly subscription to paid content.

Finally, a solid indicator of commercialization is a commodity. Many content creators link to their shops on platforms. Some also use YouTube’s built-in merchandise feature. Most of these pointers can be found in video footage. However, many content creators use video cards to highlight their ways of making money during their videos. And, of course, many say who their sponsors are at the beginning or end of the video.

YouTube monetization requirements

As YouTube is a contact for our Creator Support teams, the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) gives creators access to extra tools and monetization possibilities. Also, it allows for the revenue-sharing of ads placed on your material. The advantages, requirements, and registration information are covered in this article.

What you’ll need to participate

If you sign a partnership arrangement with YouTube, you must abide by these rules and restrictions to commercialize on YouTube.

Resisting in a nation or territory where the YouTube Partner Program is active would be best.

If you know what to do, short or lengthy videos on any channel can be appropriate for YPP. Click on the Rewards tab of YouTube Studio, then select inform me when you are qualified. You will receive an e-mail if you meet the eligibility criteria listed below.

Go to the Earn section of YouTube Studio whenever you want to see the application’s status.

Don’t get upset if your request isn’t accepted; keep producing original content and apply again within 30 days. Before reapplying, consider comparing the channel’s overall theme to our standards and guidelines. The review YouTubers are sure to have found that a significant portion of your channel must be changed.

Final thoughts

If you want to know if a YouTube channel is monetized, looking at the video descriptions is the best place to start.

Check affiliate disclaimers, links to dumps, and featured stores. Look for cards and advertising disclaimers during videos and the beginning and end periods. This will help you check if a YouTuber is monetizing their channel.

Among the richest factors of the platform, it goes without saying. In many cases, yes. However, if a YouTuber is only part of the platform’s affiliate program and makes money from ads and nothing else, there’s no direct way to tell.

Many creators who monetize their channels do so on referral platforms.

In addition, YouTube has recently introduced direct flip systems, such as “Super Thanks”, which appear directly below videos.  YouTube displays ads on most of its content, even videos from creators not part of its partner program. In this case, 100% of the advertising revenue goes to YouTube, nothing to the content producers.
