egg yolk

Once the baby comes at 6 months, parents begin to think thoroughly about the first appropriate food to give them. As they are still sensitive and fragile at this age, their food should be selected with caution. Full with benefic nutrients for the physical growth and brain building, egg yolk is among the most perfect food for them.

Why choose egg yolk at that age?

Because you need to bring in developing food for the brain of the baby, you’d better feed it with the food that gathers the essential nutrients that fulfill this specific need. In theory, egg yolks are especially rich in choline. It also contains good cholesterol, iron but also sulphur and amino acids. Besides, if you decide to feed your toddler with egg yolk, especially if it comes from pasture-fed hens, you nourish it with a product that is rich in fatty-acid that is also found in mother’s milk. For that, it is to be known that if you decide to institute the practice of feeding egg yolk to baby, this last will speak and take directions at an early age. But it is not recommended to give them the whites at that early age simply because this part of the eggs is a bit difficult to digest. After six months, you can gradually add small amount of grated and raw organic liver.

How to prepare the egg for the baby?

As the baby’s food should be prepared with caution, make sure to have an appropriate place and pasteurized utensils before going on. Also, you should make sure to choose the appropriate product for your baby. For that, you can choose whether fresh egg yolk or liquid egg yolk. But you also have to verify that the egg comes from healthy chickens and ideally grown on a grass fed diet. Once you have gathered all the ingredients, you should bring the water to boil first. After, you should put the egg in the water and let it stir for about 4 and an quarter minutes. Once the delay is over, take out the egg and put it in cold water. Once it’s cold, peel it and separate the yolk from the white. Don’t mix it and give it to the baby. When it’s more than 6 months, you can grate some liver on top if you want but especially if it appreciates it. However, during the first times you give the yolk to the baby, don’t feed it with the whole yolk egg. One spoonful should be enough as it is very rich. After, you should increase by one spoonful every day until it becomes more familiar to it.

How about feeding the baby with rice cereal?

During the first time, mainly the first da ys or the first week, you should not introduce any form of grain-based infant cereal to the baby. During the process of refinement of the flour, the most nutritious part of the grain is taken away. The flour that remains is simply a sugar-derived product.  So, if you used to feeding your infant with cereals at an early age, you increase the risk of type 1 diabetes. Cereals may also influe on your baby’s appetite and it will be trained to only appreciate processed carbs food like white bread, cookies and cake. As a consequence, the child may suffer from bulging stomachs, fat rolls in thighs and chins and probably high insulin levels. If it happens, the muscle development of the child can be stooped and he or she may early suffer from excess weight and obesity that increase the risk of heart disease and any other disease that will only appear later in life. Besides, it is also to be known that before 1, the baby’s digestive system is not mature enough. In fact, at that period, its digestive system is not yet able to produce a sufficient amount of the enzyme needed to break down the carbohydrates contained in the grains. So, as far as possible, postpone the period you will feed your baby with cereals fen. Instead, give it some nourishing food that mainly includes food that is rather rich in proteins, good cholesterol, fiber and amino acids.
