plumber

Plumbing is definitely not one of the easiest professions to get into. Here are the top 5 tips and tricks to handle tough plumbing problems for the plumbing service app with the simplest of hacks!

Unclog a Toilet easily

This is probably the most common problem that people face. Most people aren’t educated or aware of the things that they can flush down the toilet and things they should avoid putting there in the first place owing to clogging issues. However, the next time you get that call; don’t worry about taking the vacuum brush or plunger.

Take some baking soda and dish soap and make these potty pods. Pop one in the pot and pour really hot water in it. Now leave it for about 5 minutes to let the heat work. After this, run the flush. Your client will be awed by your amazing potty pod. You might even be able to sell it!

Under the Sink leakage

Most of the times, the complaints about under sink leakages aren’t really the serious ones. So before you start breaking your back and the client’s wallet, you should try a simple hack. Shut off the main water supply valve of the house and with the help of a wrench, unscrew the pipes and place a plumber’s tape on the ends before you screw them back into position. This will block the gap and prevent any leakage. Not to mention, it will save you a lot of effort and your clients a lot of money.

Repair a Leaking Faucet

A leaking faucet is a widespread but maddening plumbing problem. The usual problem is the inner component of the faucet which wears out leading to wear and tear. If you are facing issues with the worn washers, seals, and O-rings here’s how you can take care of them.

For a compression faucet: Take away the ornamental cap on the faucet handle, do away with the handle screw, and pull off at the handle. Use a crescent wrench to take out the filler nut. After you have unscrewed the stem, remove and replace the seat washer that is fixed down with a screw. Finally, take out the stem from the filler nut and restore the O-ring that’s causing the leak.

For a ball-type faucet: With this type of faucet, a substitution kit with all-new parts is the safest option. Take away the handle set screw and remove the handle. Pliers can come in handy to remove the cap and collar. There will be a particular tool in the kit that will loosen the faucet cam. Take off the faucet cam, the cam washer, and the rotating ball. Now, with the help of needle-nose pliers simply remove the inlet seals and springs. You will now have to cut the O-rings off and put the new ones on. Remember to coat them in grease to ensure that they work perfectly and last long.

Low-pressure shower

Nothing is more irritating when your shower starts dripping rather than, well, showering. So, your clients give you a buzz and you go there to replace the showerhead altogether. There might be another option. You don’t even have to pay them a visit. Just ask your customers to take out the shower head and soak it in vinegar overnight. Alternatively, they can even tie a bag full of vinegar on the showerhead without removing it. The scaling will have dissolved in the vinegar and the shower will start pumping a full volume of water!

If you really want to make your plumbing a commercially viable and successful business venture, then you should try to buy an Uber for Plumbers kind of an app. This app will help you make your services available to your clients readily.
